Who is the program for?
The reality is that any family could benefit from the KW Legacy Family Ranch Experience. Whether you are just looking for a unique family get-away or you are struggling with specific issues you would like addressed in professional family therapy, KW Legacy Ranch will tailor your stay to fit your goals and needs.
Ultimately everything we do during your stay is focused on helping your family. That is why we established KW Legacy Ranch as an in-patient Family Ranch Experience. When your entire family comes together to work on the ranch, experiences take place and tools are gained that help you learn the keys to success and happiness.
This is why we offer an opportunity for the entire family to come to the ranch. This is why we offer family coaching, family counseling, family assessments, parenting courses, reunification strategies, couples therapy, and so much more. Ultimately the why behind what we do is to help families. Reunite, unify, restore, reconcile, heal; there are many different terms that could be used, but it’s all for the same purpose-to bring families together. Our goal is to help your family succeed…period.

Families With A Troubled Teen:
Due to the fact that we operate an effective adolescent program, many of our families first come to the ranch seeking an early family intervention for their at-risk teen.
If you are trying to determine whether or not a treatment program is right for your teen but are struggling with that difficult decision, then we offer the opportunity for everyone to come to the ranch and participate in this Family Ranch Experience first. Spending time together in a serene environment away from all the other distractions of life while participating in intensive counseling and therapy, can be a major turning point for many families and teens. Many times this experience will be just what your adolescent needs to get back on track.
If this family experience isn’t enough of a boost for your child, then we can very easily transition your teen into our adolescent program. Read more about our adolescent program here.
In fact, if your family participates in our Family Ranch Experience and then determines that you still need to enroll your teen in the adolescent program, we will apply the entire fee you paid for the Family Ranch Experience towards your child’s tuition in the adolescent program. We will do everything we can to make this work for you and your family.

Couples Wanting To Strengthen Their Relationship:
The Family Ranch Experience is perfect for couples hoping to strengthen their relationship with each other. Whether you are happy and content with the state of your current relationship or seem to be struggling in your connection with each other, KW Legacy Ranch provides an exceptional opportunity to spend time together, participate in excellent positive interactions on the ranch, work side-by-side, and attend personalized couples counseling. No matter where your relationship is, these experiences will help strengthen your bond and better equip you for a lasting and successful future.
Families With An Addicted Family Member:
If you have a family member struggling with addiction, then KW Legacy Ranch can provide a unique and effective setting to help work through the issues that addiction presents. You may have a family member returning from a treatment center and want to reunite the family in a controlled and therapeutic setting. Or if you have a family member that you would like to confront and intervene in their life, then the Family Ranch Experience can be the perfect place to make that happen. Siblings, spouses, children, or parents can all be affected in tremendous ways by the awful power of addiction, and KW Legacy Ranch can provide an opportunity for healing and renewed hope.
Reunification:
The Family Ranch Experience works effectively for families experiencing reunification after absences due to military duties, job assignments, drug or alcohol treatment, or a parent trying to reestablish a relationship with their children after an extended period of time. After the long absence of a family member, the family unit will many times form new patterns of interaction as the members of the family take on new roles and responsibilities. Many times it can be a very difficult adjustment for all involved when the “missing” family member reunites and comes back into the picture. The KW Legacy Family Ranch Experience provides the ability to make that transition successful.
Grief and Loss:
The Family Ranch Experience serves those families dealing with grief and loss issues due to death, serious injury or illness, or abandonment. Coping with the loss of a loved one is an extremely difficult experience that affects all involved. It can also be a very traumatic experience when a family member discovers that they have a terminal illness such as cancer. KW Legacy Ranch provides an effective therapeutic approach to help your family cope with these specific issues.
Adoption:
KW Legacy Ranch helps families that are planning to or already have adopted a child. The Family Ranch Experience will prepare future parents and help ease apprehensions by coming to know and understanding what to expect. We will work with you, your adopted child, and/or biological children (if any) to help make this a successful experience. Sometimes an adopted child may resist a loving parent’s attempt to help or the child may struggle with attachment and bonding issues. If your family is experiencing adoption issues, often a neutral and powerfully therapeutic environment can provide the opportunity to connect. KW Legacy Ranch also uses animals and relationships with the ranch animals as a key tool when working with your family in this situation.
