KW Legacy Ranch Performance Measurement and Management Plan Summary 2022
KW Legacy Ranch values making a difference in the lives of anyone that comes into contact with the program. In addition to helping students and families make positive changes, we also desire to be a positive influence for all staff members and families, referral sources, and any other person that associates with KW Legacy Ranch. In order to help others and to be a positive influence, we will use data driven processes to improve and to deliver quality services. We use performance indicators to collect data and then evaluate that data in order to make continual improvements. This performance summary presents some of our findings from 2022.
Performance indicators were established in the following areas:
Effectiveness of Services:
KW Legacy Ranch uses evidence-based measurement tools such as The Stages of Change Model for clinical outcomes. The data from The Stages of Change assessments is analyzed by clinician, department, client, and diagnosis. Staff are trained in the Stages of Change model and results of students finishing the program in a maintenance stage of change are completed annually to assure reliability in scoring.
For 2022 our objective was to achieve a minimum of 75% of the students finish the program in a Maintenance Stage of Change. We track the stages of change of every student at KW Legacy Ranch. Our performance target for 2022 was to have at least 75% of our students graduate the program in a Maintenance Stage of Change. We were able to complete our goal for 2022 with 86% of the students finishing the program in the maintenance stage of change
Satisfaction of Persons Served:
KW Legacy Ranch uses satisfaction surveys collected from students to gather feedback on their experience with our services. Our goal for 2022 was to have a minimum of 80% of our students satisfied with the services provided for them. From the results of all students surveyed we found that 92% of our students are satisfied with the services they receive.
Almost all students expressed satisfaction with the services provided. Responses to the question: What do we do best? Included “Give us the tools to be happy and successful”, “Provide learning opportunities and provide help when needed”, “Having a team that genuinely cares”, Teaching us students essential life skills that will help us succeed in the world”.
Satisfaction of Stakeholders:
KW Legacy Ranch uses satisfaction surveys collected from parents and referral sources to gather feedback on the experience of our services for stakeholders. Our goal for 2022 was to have a minimum of 80% of the parents and referral sources satisfied with the services provided for them. According to the results of all parents and referral sources surveyed we found that 100% of our parents and referral sources are satisfied with the services they received in 2022.
100% of parents surveyed expressed satisfaction with the services provided. Responses to the question: What do we do best? included responses such as “The ranch staff and owners feel like family (in the best sense)”; “They are warm, care for my child like their own, and are not punitive or judgmental”; “The group therapy is phenomenal. Individual therapy... is also amazing. They have helped my child and us parents to grow”; “Provide an environment (ranch) that teaches hard work, dedication, and real-world examples”
100% of referral sources surveyed also expressed satisfaction with the services provided. According to the survey respondents, KW Legacy Ranch achieved an overall score of 5.37 out of 6 with 1 being the lowest and 6 being the highest. Some of the comments received were, “I've always felt KW has a special place for kids” and “I have only been impressed with the work of KW Legacy”.
Access to Services:
The objective determined by KW Legacy Ranch to demonstrate service access was to reduce unplanned discharges. The performance indicator used to track the data was to collect the number of students that leave the program ASA (Against Staff Advice). The goal for 2022 was to have less than 15% of our students leave the program unplanned. This goal was achieved.

The goal for 2022 was to have a minimum of 75% of staff express satisfaction with their job and with the company. This goal was achieved with 100% of employees expressing satisfaction.
Trends and Causes
Trends that stood out during this performance analysis included very high levels of satisfaction between staff, students, parents, and referral sources. Much of the organization’s time and attention is focused on providing exceptional treatment to our students and families, and the high satisfaction scores were further evidence that this focus is having significant payoff in the form of satisfied clients and referral sources. Additionally, staff satisfaction is high regarding overall feelings toward their job and the company as a whole. Staff feel engaged and enjoy the work they do and the people they work with.
